Dr. Philip Byler entered vocational Christian ministry as a sixth generation follower of his family's ministry history. After completing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served this nation for eight years. In July of 1964, he married the former Judy Ballew of Epworth, Georgia.
Dr. Byler entered college in 1970. Across the next quarter of a century he finally earned his doctorate, blending ministry with education across that span of time. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in January of 1972. He has pioneered three congregations and brought restoration to two others that were on the brink of failure.
Since leaving pastoral ministry. he has traveled internationally, ministering on five continents. He specializes in church leadership development and pastoral training. Dr. Byler also works as a church consultant. In 2005, he began a parallel career as a Christian writer. He has personally authored six books and has ghost written more than a dozen others, working with nationally and internationally known ministers and motivational speakers.
